Winter Hiking Group
This December-February, join us as we hike throughout southeastern Ontario. Our hiking club consists of 1 easy (Local – Peterborough area, short) and 1 moderate to difficult (travel, full day) hike per month, spanning the months of December, January, and February for a total of 6 hikes. Every hike is scheduled on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. All hikes will begin early morning (7 or 8am) but note that we will have to start earlier on the longer hikes to factor in travel time.
Your guide (that’s me!) will provide directions to each hike as we go (and the option to carpool). The final hike will be voted on as a group. We will be working our way up to an epic final hike at the end of February.
Keep in mind, hiking in the Winter is a different ball game. We will all need access to microspikes and snowshoes, at different points of the season, in addition to your regular hiking gear (proper insulated hiking boots, poles, snow pants and jacket, water bottle).
The perks of signing up for this club include getting to know your local trails, getting outside, meeting new female friends, and challenging yourself with some tough winter hiking by the end of the session. We will hike in all weather conditions (there are no snow days!).
To register, click on the payment link below. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a short introduction about yourself and your past hiking experience. Please indicate what you are hoping to gain from this experience. We enjoy collaboration and feedback! Beginners are welcome.
