Fall/Winter 2018

The Little Expedition Company

In September, we ventured out to Algonquin Provincial Park’s backcountry hiking trails. We spent two days backpacking the Eastern Pines Backpacking trail, which covers a 21km distance through lakes, bog, and vacant woods. With a beautiful mid-point natural waterslide, we cooled off from the September heat-wave. We experienced 35 degree humidity, so the swim was well-deserved. Two of our hikers were on their first-ever backpacking trip, and they accomplished such a great distance in uncomfortable heat and record time. We are looking forward to this hike next Fall (and hopefully cooler temperatures).

Late October was our long-awaited Yoga and Hiking Retreat in Coehill, Ontario. A group of 10 adventurous ladies came to their mats and left their home stress behind. Ahimsa Yoga with Rebecca guided us through four different yoga classes throughout the weekend and was an extraordinary instigator of self-love and acceptance. We can’t wait to have her back this Winter! Midway through our yoga schedule, Jenna guided a group of 10 strong women along the 15km winding trail around Silent Lake. Most were experiencing this beautiful park for their first time. Only a few had ever completed a day-hike of this length. It was a weekend for new experiences, celebrating friendship, and self-appreciation. Thank you to all the women who joined us on this journey. A special thank you to Wildwood Photography for capturing those special moments.

Coming soon…

This November, a group of 6 women will head to Lake Placid, New York. Wright’s Peak awaits us. We will commence the Winter season with a 12 km summit of this 4000 ft mountain, tackling snow and ice along the route. Many are mountain-hiking for their first time on this trip. It will be a truly adventurous experience, one that we plan to repeat in late March. Stay tuned for that information.

In February, Ahimsa Yoga with Rebecca will join us once again for a Yoga Weekend. She will be guiding us through a Saturday yoga sequence and hot stones therapy. This time around, we will experience the Haliburton Highlands and bring along our snowshoes and hot cocoa for a true Ontario Winter. Sign up on our website starting in late November.

Thank you to all of our wonderful clients who made our first Fall season such an incredible experience. Contact Jenna: littleexpedition@gmail.com to book your next weekend.
